Bone Pool™: The 2-in-1 Whelping Box and Dog Pool
One Bone Pool. Two purposes.
The Bone Pool™ by One Dog One Bone™ isn’t just for summer pool time. The same durable, bone-shaped product can also function as a whelping box, giving dog owners and breeders a dual-use option that stays useful beyond the puppy stage.
No separate pool and box to buy. No conversion kit being advertised here. The two-in-one concept is the Bone Pool itself: use it dry as a properly prepared whelping box, then use it as a dog pool when that stage is over.
A Whelping Box That Has a Life Beyond the Litter
Preparing for a litter means thinking about both the immediate needs of the mother and puppies and the equipment you’ll keep afterward. A single-purpose whelping box may spend its next chapter in storage. The Bone Pool has another job waiting.
Once the whelping stage is complete, clean it thoroughly and put it to use for supervised cooling and water play. The value is in one product serving two different stages of life.
The Original Bone Pool Construction
Introduced in 2005, the Bone Pool was designed specifically for dogs. It is made from high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE), with a rigid shell rather than inflatable or collapsible sides.
Its heavy-duty, chew-resistant and UV-resistant construction is designed for years of use. The distinctive bone shape measures 66 inches × 44 inches × 11 inches overall. A solid brass cap and drain provide straightforward water removal during pool use.
Preparing for Whelping Use
For whelping use, keep the Bone Pool dry and prepare the space for the mother and her litter. Overall dimensions are not the same as usable interior space; assess the fit for your individual dog and expected litter.
Before use, consult your veterinarian or an experienced breeding professional about suitability, bedding, traction, warmth, access and any required puppy-protection measures, including pig rails. Dual use does not mean that the bare pool alone meets every litter’s care and safety needs.
Then Comes Pool Time
After the whelping stage, the same Bone Pool can become a place for supervised cooling and play. Clean and rinse it thoroughly between uses, and follow professional guidance for any disinfection required after whelping.
Always supervise dogs around water and adjust water depth to the dog. Newborn puppies should not be placed in pool water; ask your veterinarian when young dogs are ready for water activities.
One Product. Two Purposes. Lasting Value.
The Bone Pool brings whelping-box use and dog-pool use together in one durable design. It’s a practical way to choose equipment that can remain useful after a litter has grown.
From a dry, properly prepared whelping space to supervised pool time, the Bone Pool™ gives one purchase two purposes.
